Sample Course Packages#

These packages include the framework and components you can use to help set up your course on UB Learns. You just need to update the links, files, and wording to fit your specific course.

Sample Course

The Summer 2025- Sample Course already contains the practice quiz, remote proctor prescreening assignment, and the Zoom Link Pages.

Import the Sample Package#

  1. Download the sample package using the above link. This should be a .zip file.

    • Some browsers automatically unpack .zip files (Safari on Mac in particular)

    • To change this behavior on Safari, go to Safari > Settings > General

    • Uncheck the “open safe files after downloading” box.

  2. Sign into your course on UB Learns.

  3. In the main nav bar go to: Instructor Only > Course Admin > Site Resources.

  4. Select Import/Export/Copy Components

  5. Select Import components and then Start.

  6. It might take a few minutes to update.

Customize your Course#

Once the import process is complete, you will see the default Brightspace course structue plus all of the components that were just imported. Read through everything and change all necessary information. Feel free to change as much or as little as you want.

Pay particular attention to links. In particular:

  • Zoom Meeting Link and Information

  • Syllabus Link

  • Webwork or homework link

  • Help Forum link
